The Altar of Pain is an especially dark level, the likes of which we haven't seen since the Terraformer. Monsters tend to wander around the map which makes killing them all a wee bit trying at times, but no matter, because we pick up our final weapon in the game, the Unmaker.

The Unmaker is a fleshy demon laser gun that uses energy cells and is powered by the artifacts we have been/will be collecting in the secret levels. It is stupidly powerful and better than the plasma gun in basically every way.
