I am playing this on the Dolphin Emulator, which is capable of playing Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Wii games. Unfortunately the game is not digitally distributed to my knowledge, I bet it's easy to find a physical copy though.

Warning: Emulation is a little dodgy for this game with noticeable graphical and audio glitches.

I really, really, REALLY love this game. Sure it's aged poorly in some areas and I found myself getting very frustrated from time to time but the overall experience I get from Eternal Darkness is one of fun, intrigue and... Well, I just really like it!

I've always been a fan of the ideas and themes behind cosmic horror and how the writers of yore's influences still remain intact in this style of storytelling today; namely H.P. Lovecraft's works are where most of the influence comes from (specifically the Cthulhu Mythos) and for good reason, it's damn good stuff and seeing how Eternal Darkness nailed those aspects incredibly well made it an enjoyable game to play and I wish more games took ideas from things such as how it handled sanity and honestly, I do wish more cosmic horror games were as grandiose as this even if it is incredibly cheesy at times.

Heck with how batshit insane it is, it managed to get a few scares and surprises out of me so it's safe to say Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is well worth playing today!

Join Alexandra Roivas on her mission to solve the murder of her grandfather, Edward. Upon discovering an old and morbid leather-bound tome in his study, she exposes herself to the great unknown - tales of unfathomable forces of inconceivable power clash together in a fight for reasons unutterable to mere mortals. Through the course of over 2000 years, several individuals are chosen to play their role to fight back and stop the eternal darkness and its chosen ancient. Is it real... Or is it all in your head?
