We head back to Novac to get our first "House" where we can stow our stuff by completing the One For My Baby side quest for Boone.
As you probably already know someone killed Boone's wife in Novac and he wants us to find out who and tell them to wait outside of the giant Dinosaur Gift shop.

The signal is to put on his Red Baret.

{SPOILER} To find out who did it head to the Motel head house where the manager would be and check the floor safe where you will find a receipt that proves that the motel owner sold her to slavers.

Note: Remember too take the room from her before you kill her or you want get the free house.
