Let's talk about Gau...

Gau is hard to describe. He uses no weapons and wears mostly similar armor that Sabin wears. He has no Fight command and instead has Rage. Rage allows Gau to BECOME any monster he is familiar with. At this point, you lose control as Gau uses the same weapons and abilities the monster had. To become familiar with a monster, Gau must use the Leap command while in the Veldt. He will leave your party and will return randomly during another battle (assuming you have less than four party members still). Once he returns, he will know more monsters.
