Or dear lord, how this part of the plot annoyed me.

Yda and Papalymo were long due for a return, but it happens smack in the middle of another plotline, because the game has to very quickly set up the plot that will take us into Stormblood.

But what really takes it is the amount of plot contrivances it takes to set up that only us and Alphinaud are present to meet them until the next major plot point, we don't know they're alive and well, and why we don't IMMEDIATELY call people up to tell them, even after we're away from the rally.

I can understand why they wrote out Alisaie temporarily for this part, plus the girl DID just get shot and poisoned and could use a rest. But we CONVENIENTLY return to where she's waiting for Thancred, when she suddenly disappears, and not a single person comments her absence or even of telling her what happened when we make a pit stop.

Also, really damn stupid that no one is actually telling Alisaie that Thancred can't teleport. Yes, lets just leave her wondering what the hell is taking him so long instead up front. This isn't like Y'shtola who is hiding her blindness from everyone, she flat out outed Thancred a while back anyway, in addition to giving him an excuse as to why he didn't immediately contact the Scions once he was well.

All of this goes back to a point I've made several times throughout this expansion: The Scions are EXTREMELY poor at communicating with one another on various fronts.

This is a massive misstep in what was otherwise a patch that had a very powerful first act.
