Exiting the forest is super simple; all you do is follow these path turns.

A full, blind playthrough of Infinity. Filled with gameplay and commentary I'll walkthrough this superb and brand new tactical RPG for the Gameboy Colour.

Ready yourself for a large helping of nostalgia as we dive into the world of Infinity. This is a brand new TRPG game to be released for the Gameboy Colour. It is an example of the retro console revival that is happening as of late, where brand new games are created for the classic consoles. We find ourselves in control of a proud ex-knight; redrafted into service to keep the peace between warring nations. But there is more going on in this world than mere politics; as evil forces begin to stir and manipulation both nations, will we really be able to maintain balance?

Infinity offers us a turn based tactical battle system that I am personally a huge fan of. Turn based and more strategic style RPGs have always grabbed me in a way that active, ATB RPGs just can't. This game seeks to tell an epic story with a rich and complex plot, far beyond what you'd expect from a Gameboy game. In fact Infinity reminds me more of NES classics such as final fantasy with its fantastic 8bit visuals, and overall grid based artistic style.

With multiple party members, substantially long gameplay and an immersive tale to tell, Infinity really feels like an accomplished and polished game. If this had been released back in the Gameboy's hayday we would've been blown away, and to be honest I'm still amazed at the level of quality and content they can get out of the humble Gameboy.

This retro console revival is becoming somewhat of a trend, where companies are pushing the older consoles to limits that no one ever tried before; with advanced graphical techniques and modern game design approaches it's only a matter of time until something truly special is created. Personally it fascinates me, seeing what people can achieve as well as scratching that nostalgia itch, combined with the feeling of playing something brand new; an underdiscovered world that even the internet doesn't know about, and it's all ours to explore!

Will Infinity be our breakout star? I for one intend to find out. Hopefully you'll join me for that and I shall see you then.

Infinity has a had shaky development, having been started 20 years ago. Originally developed by Affinix Software from 1999 to 2001, Infinity was left incomplete, but now there is a kickstarter by Incube8 games and Retro Modding, in support of both finishing it and producing physical cartridges. On this channel I make a variety of gaming content. Sometimes we're reviewing up and coming indie games, sometimes we're revisiting retro classics for a Let's Play. The only consistent factor is that it's all gaming, and it's all accompanied by sarcastic commentary. If that's your thing then I have links:

I always try to be as fair and objective as possible when making my review videos, giving some honest feedback and a bit of criticsm here and there. Remember that games these days are always subject to change so many of the things mentioned here may no longer be true depending on how old this video is.

Please leave a comment if you have any questions about this video, or suggestions for future videos. I'm always open to hearing what you guys have to say.

Thanks again for watching and please, enjoy.
