16This video showcases MakerKing, a new release on steam with simple 2D platforming gameplay. The main draw of the game is a simple to use level editor that's loaded up with obstacles and entities to make your levels exciting; once completed you can upload them to be shared with others. Alternative you can download and play the maps of others.
Yes, it's a clone of Mario Maker. But it's free, has a surprising number of features and is oddly addictive.
I intended to make a Gameplay Review, 1 hour video testing out various levels and showing off the level editor, unfortunately I found out that MakerKing also has a speedrun tracker. Lists of the faster completions of each stage. As soon as I found this, I became consumed. I had only one purpose in life.
This video shows my descent from admirable, well-intentioned game reviewer, into the depths of competitively minded speed-obsessed maniac. There was a random stranger above me on a leaderboard. I couldn't be having that.
This video's just a bit of fun. I've left it unedited so you can see where I snapped and switched goals entirely. Don't take it too seriously or anything, just enjoy :)
