KKND: Krush Kill 'N' Destroy is a real-time strategy game developed by Beam Software and first released for MS-DOS on March 5, 1997. It was published by Melbourne House in Australia, and by Electronic Arts internationally.
The game takes places in a post-apocalyptic future. Following a nuclear war, most of humanity has been wiped out. However, some humans went underground, whereas others mutated and survived on the surface. Now the Survivors want to reclaim the surface, leading to an inevitable clash with the Evolved.
KKND follows the template set by Command & Conquer, and features similar base building, resource, and army management. The key resource the two factions fight over is oil, which is used to purchase units and structures. Both Survivors and Evolved have a 15-mission campaign each.
The game received positive reviews at the time, and later the same year, a revised version called KKnD: Xtreme. This version added 20 new mission as well as a skirmish mode. Later, Beam Software developed a sequel, KKND2: Krossfire.
