Exploring more of the dark depths of Floor 8. We do find the stairs to Floor 9 rather early but we still have much to explore on this floor.

Floor 8's gimmick is the area is very dark. You will not be able to see much more than two squares or so out from where you are. Of course this can be mostly negated by constantly checking the map like I have been doing. The area is very wide open but it also likes to hide items and events in little nooks so its best to explore every inch of the place. Besides, it gets you more wonderful exp and skill points from random encounters.

This floor has two evil events that are actually potential boss battles. One involves Sanae if you have unlocked 20 characters and the other involves those frogs Cirno keeps freezing. So its a good idea to save before picking up even icons on this floor or look them up on the wiki or else you may find yourself caught in a battle you don't want to be part of.

There are also the ghosts that Komachi wants you to hunt down. This can make the darkness a bit annoying as you run into things you are not ready for.
