And, of course, Wily was behind it all the whole time, even creating a doppelganger for Proto Man to take the blame for all of Wily's evil. I really hope this didn't surprise anyone.

Now the stage design jumps back up in difficulty, with tiny rotating platforms with sawblades, a crusher ceiling reminiscent of Dust Man's stage way back when, and super low jumps with spike ceilings. The boss can also be a little tricky because you have to use its body as a platform to reach the weakspot, but all in all not too bad.
