0After several years of fighting, Mega Man finally had Dr. Wily arrested. World peace was finally achievable. Wily hated the fact that his plans for world domination ended this way, but as the months went by, he developed an evil smirk upon his face. He knew something nobody else did. Before he was captured, he managed to complete a new set of Robot Masters and store them away for just such an occasion. If for whatever reason he is unable to type a code on his computer after a certain period of time, the Robot Masters would awaken and wreak havoc as they search for his whereabouts. No one could predict that Wily was capable of such a 4D chess move therefore he is once again proud of the genius that he is. As the clock struck midnight on the day marking six months since Wily's arrest, the Robot Masters awakened and soon the city was under attack. Dr. Light went ahead to investigate while Mega Man, Roll, and Auto followed by scout car. Eventually the road became too damaged so Mega had to proceed alone on foot. He rejoined Dr. Light just in time to watch the Robot Masters attack the prison and Wily escape in his iconic saucer. As Mega tried to follow Wily, a robot called Mad Grinder impeded his progress. Once Mad Grinder was destroyed, Mega was attacked by another Robot, a combat robot named Bass and his robot dog Treble. After a brief spar, it turns out Bass was just testing Mega's potential. He says he's been keeping the peace while Wily was in prison. He teleports away leaving Mega confused.
