Let's Play Millenium! Part 3 - Frontier: Earth
Still building up Orbital Lasers and resources in order to build that Fleet Carrier, then once it's actually complete, I start building up Fighters in order to take some to our enemy's base: Mars.
It now occurs to me that it's more profitable to build a larger supply of Fighters than Lasers, as you only have so much time to fire the lasers... Actually, when you play with the sound off, you actually have less time to use the lasers, but when the sound is on, you have much more... But anyways, I should only have had about 30-40 lasers and spent the rest of the time building Fighters.
Once Mars is conquered, probe it and plant a base there (you don't have to do anything with it other than that). After a few weeks/months the commander of the Mars base will raid the information stores of the old Martian base to get plans for a Terraformer, which we immediately research and build. Unfortunately, it has a mass of 1060, and the Fleet Carrier only has a capacity of 1050...
Fortunately, our science guy isn't a complete idiot and suggests retrofitting the FC to become something better... a Juggernaut. Of course, once we start retrofitting it, the commander of the second base you found will make crazy claims about a Martian fleet hiding out somewhere, and a week or two later, the Moon comes under attack. 236 ships close in, and it will take far more than 99 fighters and 16 orbital lasers to take them out...
Once that's done, though, you're basically finished with the game. Just finish the new ship, load the Terraformer onto it, then wave goodbye to your colonies, since they are all seceeding from your union while the machine does its work. Of course, once Earth is done cooking, you just have to build and land a base on it, and the game is basically over. This is no longer my best time, though, as I've managed a time in 2207 since this was recorded...
Yes, I realize I forgot to turn resource collection back on after building the Fleet Carrier... the only thing keeping us going with Titanium were the three Grazers that were still in operation to that point... Oh, and speaking of minerals... NOTHING IN THIS GAME USES METHANE. The sole purpose of it is to allow people to mutate into Methanoids... Even stupider, you can mine Methane out of the Asteroids...
Anyways, this has been fun, and is a game I've been wanting to do for a very long time. I hope you all enjoyed watching it!
