Compared to Cthulhu's Saves the World, items are much more useful. The other game had only Potions which acted as full heal/revives but usually if you were using those it meant you had already lost the battle. Due to the CT system, items tend to be much faster than spells making Potions useful for a quick recovering and pick me up. Plus, this game has more variety of items which is always good.
