Gameplay: Second stage is a little more challenging despite being classic difficulty. At Night levels, you do not get sun falling from the sky at all, but you can still get it from sun-producing plants. Graves are present during night levels on which you can't plant anything at all and from them, Regular, Conehead and Buckethead zombies emerge to ambush you during the final wave of level (level progress can be seen at the bottom of the right side of the screen), and speaking of that, ambushes will starting from Night, always trigger whenever you're at the final wave. Plants that you get in Night levels are Puff-shroom, which fires short-ranged spres at Zombies and cost no sun at all, Sun-shroom that produces 15 sun at first, and 25 sun later when it grows, Fume-shroom that shoots a bit further than Puff-shroom a fume cloud that can bypass through "shield" items and rows of zombies, Grave Buster that eats a grave when you plant on it, Hypno-shroom which can make a zombie who eats it fight for you, Scaredy-shroom that shoots long-ranged spores at zombies, but gets scared when a zombie is near it, disabling its purpose of shooting down zombies, Ice-shroom that can shortly immobilize zombies and temporarily slow them down (once the freezing effect ends) and Doom-shroom, which destroys all zombies in a huge area while leaving a crater on which nothing can be planted at all (craters disappear after some time though). Zombies you will encounter in the Night levels are Newspaper Zombie that carries his newspaper that provide him with a limited defense and make him immune to Snow Peas while he is carrying them, This zombie moves slowly, but when his newspaper are destroyed, starts moving fast, Screen Door Zombie that carries screen door that are much tougher to break than newspapers of Newspaper Zombie, but Fume-shroom's fume clouds can pierce through them, Football Zombie that moves fast and is much more durable than Buckethead Zombie, Dancing Zombie who can summon four Backup Dancing Zombies to protect himself from shots of your plants and Backup Dancing Zombie that appear in four whenever Dancing Zombie dances. Starting from Night levels, you will get coins in certain chances when a zombie is killed, coins can be used to purchase things that will make things easier for you to play. Silver coins are worth 10, Golden coins are worth 50 and Diamonds are worth 1000.
