72There's not much more we can do to ready ourselves for the inevitable battle outside of finishing the remaining quests and informing both Khalid and Duncan of the situation. Whether we decide to march alongside the Flaming Fist relief force or sally out of Bridgefort alongside Khalid and the defenders, it's going to be a messy business with spells flaying this way and that as combatants fight desperately to survive.
Most of the crusade recruits aren't that skilled in combat, but the Barghest and the other officers have many years of experience to guide their sword swings. It'll fall to us to make sure the damage they can cause is minimised as best as possible; Khalid is a capable warrior, but he's just one person and we won't have control of him during the attack. Recruiting him to the party would solve that, but it'd also throw the dynamic of our group off and I don't want to have them leave, not even for a little while.
I'm sure Khalid will be just fiiiine.
