Ah Launch Base zone, the final zone of Sonic 3 un-locked. This zone can be really fun. Parts of the acts can be considered a bit of a maze, which in my opinion is good, challenging level design in a game like Sonic. I think more games in the series should have levels like this, rather than only having straightaways with many branching paths (I mean, those have their place too, after all Sonic Rush is my favorite game in the series and it's full of those, but it's nice to see variety). It is here that we see the Death Egg is being rebuilt following it's destruction in Sonic 2, and THAT'S why Robotnik is here on Angel Island. Also, not counting the Act 1 boss, we actually have 3 boss fights here! The first boss is simple, just attack the tower. The second is also very simple, though can prove somewhat difficult if you try the strategy I used WITHOUT having Super. The final boss, Big Arm, actually doesn't appear for Sonic's story in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and that's another reason why I wanted to use Sonic 3 Complete for my playthrough. Big Arm is actually really challenging to fight, and it has a grab attack that can hit you out of your Super form, although it doesn't affect Hyper outside of wasting ring time. Big Arm is one of my favorite boss fights in the entire series. :)
