We're in the Death Egg again, and it's a full-fledged zone this time around! Harboring fun gimmicks such as lightspeed dash panels, reversing gravity, and hangy things I forget the name of alongside unfavorable gimmicks such as the elevators, the corner you can get trapped in, and "That One Room" in act 1 (you know the one), this is a very memorable stage. It also houses the hardest miniboss in the game (no surprise there), a rather interesting main boss what makes use of the gravity gimmick, and a final boss that -while technically easier than previous games because you can gain rings- is REALLY easy to die on even with Hyper due to the threat of pit. What's more, if you die on the boss, you'll have to fight it with no rings at all, which DEFINITELY makes it the most difficult final boss of the original trilogy. After that debacle, Eggman escapes with the Master Emerald into Doomsday Zone, and it's time for the first Super Sonic boss fight in the series! The idea here that you start out as Super (or Hyper) Sonic and you need to keep your ring count up, because if it reaches Zero, Mobius gets to see a blue shooting star tonight. The first phase gets me more often than I'd like to admit (it's deceptively difficult), but the second phase is really easy as long as your ring count isn't dwindling.

With that, we are finished with Sonic 3!
