I always was fascinated by the idea of what effects an apocalypse would have on society and how human nature would change with its surroundings. In the case of a zombie-apocalypse, it's not the zombies that I would most be interested (and afraid) of. Really, it's the idea of what lengths civilized people would go to in order to survive. For that reason, a zombie-apocalypse is probably one of the worst ways for civilization to go I believe.
