Let's Play: There is No Game: Wrong Dimension - Part 1 - It starts weird and just gets weirder
Welcome to part 1 of my playthrough of There is No Game: Wrong Dimension!
It's hard to explain what this game is about without spoiling it. Even trying to describe around it vaguely is, in fact, spoiling it somewhat, because it does a lot of things with the tropes and themes typically found in games. It is, at it's core, a puzzle-solving game, but how it goes about presenting the puzzles (and how you solve them) vary wildly.
This is a game about games, but also not games. It's an absolute delight to interact with, and the team that made it knows exactly what they want you to experience. There's a lot of meta-commentary going along with the actual plot, and as a person that's played a lot of games in my life: I appreciate what they're not saying out loud.
The art work, sound engineering, music, and interactivity are all really solid. I wish the player nudges were a little more toned down. Gimme some time to think, game!
I have been pleasantly delighted by this game, and I look forward to seeing how it plays out.
