Welcome to part one of my playthrough of Prey!

So despite this being a Big Deal when it came out, and everyone raving about it, I know basically nothing about Prey. From this first installment I can say that you play as one of the Yu siblings (Morgan, if you play as the woman) and they've been doing Secret Experiments, of which I am the willing participant. Of course this isn't the only experiment going on, and another one has gotten loose and it's all broken pretty bad. You now need to survive in a not-quite-bioshock-not-quite-system-shock environment by exploring, using your wits, and giving yourself knowledge and abilities a la The Matrix. It's an interesting combination of things.

Also I think I got tricked into playing a Metroidvania, which is the ultimate betrayal.

First impressions are really positive though. It looks good, the mechanics are solid, the environments are really interesting to explore, and there's already things to exploit! Also I get punished when I try and get sloppy, which is nice, I guess.
