Snipers were something I didn't use enough in UFO Aftermath but they are very effective in Aftershock, especially when you get them to their maximum promotion level. Being able to call shots is absolutely fantastic but even without that, having someone at a high vantage point against the wargots is a boon as they do not have especially good long range capability. That is something we shall be taking advantage of in the upcoming battles we have with them.
