88You'll quite often want to join in wars your allies are the defenders in if you can sway the war so they win. The main reasons are of course that you improve your relations with the person you assisted and the prestige of winning the war, a reward that is not to be overlooked when you consider prestige improves relations with feudal lords and can help you found titular kingdoms and empires (if you have the DLC to do so that is).
Of course it's a fine balancing act to not over-extend yourself or drain all your funds raising your levies as well as try not to anger your vassals too much. Sometimes it is best to focus on your own internal problems especially if there are powerful factions. In most other situations it's always good to ensure you are in the good books of your allies; you never know when you might need to turn to them for help...
