We’ve been hoarding a lot of ammunition for quite a while, something that is both the worst and best idea at this point in the game. It’s the worst idea because the game truly gives you loads of it to play with, encouraging you to blast everything to bits with heavy ordinance so as to breeze through the opposition. On the other hand, it’s the best idea because ammo won’t always be this plentiful and by being careful, you’re ensuring that the sudden drought of resources doesn’t catch you by surprise.

Still, we’re far enough into the Delta Labs that we can afford to splurge and that means bringing out the rocket launcher to clear our the quite hefty groups of foes we’re coming across. The direct impact packs a huge punch and the plash damage is nothing to sneeze at either, though it doesn’t do well against opponents who can easily dodge like the cacodemon. For them I’d recommend the chaingun at range or the plasma gun when you’re close, both of which we also have plenty of ammo for… for now.
