Let's Replay Stonekeep #30: Exploring the Faerie Realm
143Unlike almost everywhere else in the game we've been to so far, the majority of the faerie realm is devoid of combat and instead full of NPCs to talk to. Unlike the dwarven fortress however there's no shop to buy items but what this place lacks in purchasable objects it makes up for in things to pick up. The faerie realm is positively littered with items you can grab without consequence that are of no consequence for the most part, but with our inventory being limitless there's no harm in grabbing them here. You never know what you'll end up needing after all, especially here.
We'll be having a lot of conversations in the faerie realm, far more then we ever had in the dwarven fortress and while you may think most of them are inane and pointless, that's not the case; every NPC in the faerie realm has a purpose and before we're done here we'll have spoken multiple times to all of them, much to Karzac's annoyance. It's fair to say that Karzac isn't having a fun time here in the faerie realm and it makes me wonder how Farli and Domdur would react to being there. If I were to take a guess I'd say that there's no dialogue from them at all in there which is a shame as Dombur's observations about the faerie realm would be fascinating to hear. It's probably better that they don't have dialogue as it gives characters like Skuz an opportunity to shine -something there's not a huge window for him to do - plus it allows Karzac's reactions to have that much more of an impact.
