There has been a lot of talk about COPPA, an FTC regulation that will impact content on YouTube aimed at kids.

Basically, YouTube shouldn't have been serving targeted ads to children, and YouTubers have to ensure their work isn't for kids if they want to remain fully monetized.

This has caused some panic, especially considering the FTC could fine content creators up to $42,000 per video that violates the rule. Many people are worried that their content will be punished even if they're not violating COPPA, and that the vagueness of the guidelines will see many people punished.

Will that actually happen, though? Will the FTC, with its limited resources, even manage to nab all the genuine violations? What exactly will be at risk, and who should be worried? Let's talk about all that in a casual chat that I hope will put some minds at ease.
