I've been watching The Universim for a little while, and picked it up at some point when it went on sale. The version I'm playing is 0.42...something, and there is a lot of potential in this game. I love the idea of working as a deity to bring your chosen people from the stone-age into the space age and beyond. There's a bunch of Black and White vibes that I didn't know I was missing.

Things I liked:
- I love that you actually do have to manage most aspects of your civ, from assigning workers to managing resources. I hope that would get abstracted away with the use of ministers though, because there's a ceiling to how fun it is to assign people to jobs. I didn't get to the point where the civ might start to self-organize, but I'd assume that's a thing that happens
- It's cute!
- The map isn't a grid, which is shockingly refreshing. It makes placement a little odd at times, but I appreciate the organic nature.

Things that detracted from my overall experience:
- There's almost no tutorial, which is a problem when there are key commands you need to know in order to do things (like use your god powers), and also not doing optimal builds because you don't know just how much water your people actually need.
- Weird graphic stuttering. I don't have a top-end computer but the build thus far is not optimized, so that's something to keep in mind.
- A couple small mouse interaction issues due to the POV vs sphere shape of the world
- Confusing tech tree
- The narrator's a jerk.
- Frustrating UI (like it not allowing placement of things and it not being clear as to why)

Overall I think there's a lot of potential with this game, but it's not there yet. Keeping in mind that it's currently in Early Access, a lot can change. I'll come back to it on release and see how it stacks up then.
