So, I did some research after making this video and found that the Calibur Arc actually comes from volume 8 of the books, whereas Mother's Rosario is book 7. Book 8 is a collection of three side-stories, with the other two being stuff from Aincrad that was adapted back in season one. Including episodes 5 and 6 which were easily the worst part of that arc. So basically, the entirety of Book 8 was shit and should have just not been adapted at all. But this confirms that they actually were not condensing the story at all, it just was that badly paced and stupid. Also, Klein is NOT on the cover, but Heathcliff is, despite not being in the book.
