The scale of AI models is continuously increasing. These big models bring new challenges to responsible AI areas such as privacy protection, model interpretability, ethical natural language generation, and evaluation of application maturity. In this session, we present several efforts aimed at addressing these challenges. We introduce how to effectively improve the efficiency, security, and inclusiveness of big model training while protecting privacy; how to better understand the complex and nonlinear working mechanism of big models; how to avoid introducing human-created unethical content in the pretraining corpus; and how to assess the maturity of a company’s responsible AI practices.
