Linus Sebastian ATTACKS Ad-Block Users and DOBULES DOWN on it
Twitter never ceases to be toxic, as people who use the platform daily have the bright idea of changing the world in under 140 characters.
Linus Sebastian, owner of Linus Media Group and its affiliated channels, is no different. He has had a history of making contorversial videos and tweets throught his career.
This particular controversy started on 2022-01-27 23:27 EST, when he tweeted on @LinusTech about his 2021 Revenue, and the graph shows at least 18% of YouTube AdSense and 21% of In-video Sponsor Spots (with a combined percentage of 39% on YouTube ads and sponsorships alone).
Twenty-three minutes later, Kirk Lau (@kirkulanis) remarked in the comments that he felt "like a jerk being lazy and not customizing my adblocker."
And four minutes after that reply, Linus made a statement just as controversial as ex-Cinemassacre Mike Matei:
"Ad blocking is the exact same thing as piracy. Literally the exact same thing."
This has sparked LOTS of outrage in the tech community, and unfortunately, there are people who DEFENDS such controversial statements like this. He even went as far as to double down on it as well.
I'll also explain how channels with a very large number of subscribers abuse the use of ads and sponsorships to make the viewing experience detrimental to the average person.
