Those who were expecting a quiet year after 2020 did not get one, and the same is true fo the games industry.

Executives of multiple game companies were fired over harassment and abuse of employees and non-employees. The next-gen consoles are continuously out of stock for over a year. Games that were mediocre at best still got awards. Square Enix continously gatekeeps gamers from a satisfactory experience, with FFVII Remake Intergrade and the Yuffie DLC being gatekeeped to PS5 players and those willing to use the still-awful Epic Games Store. Even Nintendo upset it's loyal fanbase with the Switch Online Expansion Pack.

I will go into detail why we probably won't make it to 2022.
