Little Big Adventure is an Action Adventure game. It was made by Adeline Software and was published by EA in 1994

Little Big Adventure is one of those games that was ahead of it's time. The story, the full voice acted NPCs and the interaction in the world was something that came a few years later to its full potential (for example in games like deus ex)

The whole game makes the impression of a kids game or something, maybe it even is but back then it was too good to not play it just because of that and also most of us were kids at the time so it did not really matter anyway ^^

So yeah the game is kinda a mix between an adventure game, a fighting game and a normal action game. It does not have RPG elements except for your magic level which you gain not for experience points but rather in predetermined areas of the game.

What I always thought the game was good at is that it really gives the player the impression of a fugitive that is overwhelmed by the tyrants army because in most cases it is not even a good idea to attack anyone in the levels because you are easily outnumbered by your enemies and also there are enemy types which you cant hurt until you get a certain magic level.

In most games raw violence gets you further but not here. There is also a special enemy in the game which sometimes get spawned when an alarm is sounded by someone. If that special enemy hits you you are instantly K.O and get transportet to the nearest prison cell which you have to escape again to get back on track.

I think most people hate the save system of the game because it is a bit unforgiving. That means that you can't really save the game or quicksave. Everything you do is automatically saved by the game (when you get into new areas or something) The only thing you can do is make a backup of your current progress and play with the other one.
