Llamatron 2112 for Atari ST
Jeff Minter, founder of the software house Llamasoft, has always been known for his weird, twitchy, quirky style of games. Everything he's written has featured high energy, crazy graphics, tons of trippy effects, and plenty of four legged and hooved mammals.
Here's a bit of gameplay footage of one of my favorite games of his, Llamatron 2112, which was released for Amiga, DOS, and for Atari ST. This footage is from the Atari ST version, being played through Hatari on an emulated Atari STE with 4MB RAM and TOS 2.06.
Llamatron is a semi-parody of the classic Williams arcade game Robotron 2084. Your player is a llama, and you must shoot all the baddies and save other beasties like goats, sheep, and cows. There's plenty of weird sounds, flashing lights, and other insanity!
The DOS version of Llamatron is playable for free on the Internet Archive.
