The TWS radar stands for track while scanning, it enables you to track more than one target at one time. It is weaker than RWS BVR(Beyond visual radar) mode, but it is very useful when you have many enemy aircraft on your radar. You can only use AIM-120 missiles when you use this mode, because the AIM-120 missile has a radar in it. This can help guide the missile onto the target without sending a strong radar signal to your enemy.

When you use TWS radar mode, the enemy aircraft will only see you as tracking their aircraft. When you use beyond visual range RWS mode, your radar will send a strong radar signal. As a result, this will put your enemy's on alert, because he knows he has been locked. The RWS STT(Single Target Tracking) mode is more reliable and accurate, but it isn't always ideal to use when you have multiple enemies. You cannot break the lock on RWS STT mode, because by doing so your missile cannot be guided onto the target. If you engage in this STT mode, you are vulnerable to other enemies who are tracking you and trying to get a lock. In such a situation, you need to be able to lock multiple targets and destroy them at the same time.

To engage the TWS mode:
1. Press "2" to engage the BVR(Beyond Visual Radar) mode.
2 Turn on your radar by press "i".
3. Turn on your TWS radar "Alt"+"i".
4. Use your cursor movement keys ";" UP, "." DOWN, "," LEFT, & "/" RIGHT.
5. Select a target on the MFD(Multi Function Display) screen. The enemy will be represented as triangles. Press "Enter" to track them.
6. Select and track more targets by pressing "Enter".
7. When you are in range to fire. Press "alt"+"space".
