Mechwarrior Online: Jagermech Mod Dual Autocannon 10s
0The Jagermech is a very good candidate for ballistic weapons, and I love ballistic weapons. I prefer them over energy weapons, like the laser, or the PPC for various reasons. The number one reason is the low heat generation in relation to its damage potential. The second reason is the rate of fire, it takes a little longer for energy weapons to charge. Ballistic weapons use chemical energy to propel a projectile while energy weapons need time to charge. Everyone has different opinions, and they are better with some weapon systems than others.
In my configuration, I mounted a XL 280 engine, 2 autocannon 10s, and about 80 rounds of ammo, 2 medium lasers, and 12 double heat sinks. The armor is at full, so I can engage in close quarter combat. I setup the 2 AC10s into group 1 as chain fire, in group 2 I set the lasers on all fire, and on group 3 I set the 2 AC10s on all fire. The XL 280 engine gives this prototype a excellent speed of 69 kph on a 65 ton chassis. In this model, you can take damage unlike the stock Jagermech which is relatively lightly armored with 2 autocannon 2s, and 2 autocannon 5s. The stock mech doesn't give you enough armor, nor does it give you enough ammo. I prefer the all or nothing approach where you concentrate on a few factors to increase survivability, speed, or firepower. On this prototype, I concentrated on survivability and medium firepower. It has a good balance of speed, heavy armor, and firepower at medium to short ranges. This prototype is ideal for engaging in medium range brawls, yet when a enemy closes in on you; you can survive an engagement longer than the standard model of this type.
The role for this mech would be medium range support mech, and it can be used as an attacker when you have enough support. Unlike the stock Jagermech, you can give punishment with your awesome array of weapons, but you cannot sustain damage. Overall, my prototype is a well balanced version of the Jagermech.
