The Go-229 was the first aircraft to be designed without a fuselage. By getting rid of the fuselage, drag was reduced, and the range was increased on the aircraft. The Horton brothers who designed this aircraft stumbled on feature they didn't expect, like a very small radar signature. The Go-229 was a jet powered aircraft with 2 engines embedded in the wings near the cockpit.

The Go-229 had a top speed of 600 mph or 966 kph, and it was quite maneuverable as well, and it had very good handling qualities as well. The armaments on the Go-229 were 4 30mm cannons which could do some serious damage to the biggest allied bombers. You didn't have to worry about any allied escort fighters if you were in this thing, you can just go straight to the bombers and get away. At 600 mph, you were faster the fastest allied piston engine aircraft, you were also faster the the P-80 shooting star. The P-80 shooting star had a maximum range of 410 mph or 660 kph, so the Go-229 was about 31.7% faster or 190 mph faster. The Go-229 could take a considerable amount of damage much more so than the Me-262, Ta-183, Me-109, FW-190s, and other Luftwaffe fighters. The real asset for this aircraft was its speed, and its heavy armaments.

There was also a bomber version of the Go-229 which could carry about 1100 lbs or 500 kgs of bombs. The bomber version which was going to be made with the lowest radar signature was going to be produced with a wooden body, but the war ended before any of these could be produced. The stealth concept would have worked because all the weapons and engines were internal, like the B-2 stealth bombers of today.

In the simulator, the Go-229 handles every smoothly, and the controls were very responsive. The acceleration was good, and the top speed could be reached very quickly. The climb rate was very impressive due to the excellent acceleration. The 4 30mm guns could do some serious damage to even the biggest allied bombers in 1945, like the B-29 Super Fortresses. You could decimate a bomber in a few seconds assuming all your rounds hit. Had the war gone on for another year, the allies would have been in serious trouble. A few hundred Go-229s could down hundreds of bombers on a single sortie.
