Agent Mobius M. Mobius is the latest small-time Marvel Comics character to make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel recently released a new clip of Mobius giving Loki some guff and introducing himself as an employee of the TVA — that is, the Time Variance Authority. With that clip, we’ve learned a few details about the MCU as a whole, which are presumably just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. For one thing, the TVA is a pretty omnipotent organization, knowing everything there is to know about our nefarious villain turned potential anti-hero — well, they know that he likes to talk and to lie, anyway. Additionally, we find out that the TVA was created by the Timekeepers, whom Loki describes as three “space lizards” — an accurate description of their comic book counterparts, but not quite right as far as their place in the universe. See, in the comics, these guys were actually created by the TVA, not the other way around. But that’s a video for another day — let’s talk Mobius!

Created by Walt Simonson, Agent Mobius M. Mobius first showed up in the comics waaaay back in 1991’s Fantastic Four #352 through 354, and his design was based on Marvel executive editor Mark Gruenwald, who was oddly enough known as the Keeper of Continuity due to being, well, a big ol’ nerd about Marvel. Mobius would go on to show up in an issue of Fantastic Four Annual and She-Hulk — so not a very large repertoire of material, to say the least!
