0Well, I waited and Waited to purchase this game, no matter the amount of times the Oculus store flashed its sexy AAA goodness in my face, I held off, for years, I waited, until now, when it FINALLY went on sale for a very reasonable price...and OMG...WHY DID I WAIT TO BUY THIS????
Instantly, the second you awaken in your robotic body, Jak, and the scene of being on a space station of some sort in orbit around Saturn, a mining ship, you Know, you have entered a game that's just at the next level.
Lighting, animation and detail...AAA...kicking ass all the way.
Feel and interaction are incredible, and wanna talk about Immersion? Wow
Each training module is fast, and teaches you all you need in a single pass and then its up to you to use that, your ships captain is well voiced and animated, and the gameplay is open and fun, its a fest on every level in the first drop in.
The ZERO-G environment is perfect, its just the right feel, and there are a lot of options to check into until you find the movement and interaction specs that work best for you.
In this first leap into the game, I have the movement about half unlocked, with the Yaw not yet enabled, but, Soon, Full Zero G will be mine.
I love how VR can just jump out and kick your ass, a Veteran gamer, and how VR presents things in new ways, completely new, and we, as gamers, are once again asked to LEARN....
I havent really had to learn anything new in gaming for about 25 years, when 3D came to PC games.
It was the same thing as the 2d, but, now the chunks were, chunks, walls blocked better, enemies had hit zones, shadows and lighting happened, but since then, no really actual changes in how we gamed and interacted with objects in games.
And then, there's VR...and as you will see, on this first run thru, learning how to use my Exo-unit at about 19:00 mins was a lil challenging.
I dont know Anything about this games story, so its going to be a blast exploring thru the game over the next few sessions.
IF you are a Oculus user, I Urge you to grab Lone Echo Part 1 here, play it thru and prepare for the next story arriving later this month, its bound to be at least as amazing as this game.
