Longest Total Lunar Eclipse in 2025
Sunday, September 7, 2025, will be the longest total lunar eclipse of the year, also known as a Blood Moon. During this phenomenon, the Moon passes through Earth's shadow and acquires a reddish hue, a result of the refraction of sunlight in Earth's atmosphere.
🕒 Key times (Brasília time):
Penumbral eclipse begins: 12:28 PM
Partial eclipse begins: 1:27 PM
Total eclipse begins: 2:31 PM
Eclipse peak: 3:12 PM
Total eclipse ends: 3:53 PM
Partial eclipse ends: 4:57 PM
Penumbral eclipse ends: 5:55 PM
Unfortunately, it will not be visible from Brazil, as the Moon will be below the horizon during the event.
