This is the longplay of Alcahest, an action, adventure and role-playing game produced by Hal Corporation and published by SquareSoft in 1993, released for the Super Famicom, exclusively in Japan.

The story of the game is as follows: every thousand years a red star shines in the sky, hence Alcahest, the evil entity, leaves the dark world for our world. In his first appearance, a warrior gifted with strength, intelligence and the four Elemental Guardians managed to seal the Alcahest monster for a thousand years. However, time has passed and you, in command of the hero Alen, must seal Alcahest again. And for that, our hero must find the four Elemental Guardians (wind, water, fire and earth) to seal the evil Alcahest and save our world.

During your adventure you will meet five warriors endowed with five special abilities. Garstein (the wizard); Elikshil (the princess); Sirius (the knight); Magna (the cyborg) and Nevis (the Dragon Goddess).

The story may even be basic, but it is well told and mixes medieval and futuristic elements. Alcahest resembles a The Legend of Zelda, with the action being seen from above and the protagonist using a sword to defeat enemies. However, the game is very different from Link's adventures because it is linear and simpler. Alen can use his sword, charge power by holding the attack button and by obtaining the Elemental Guardians, he can also switch between these guardians and use different techniques, as well as being able to summon the guardians for very powerful attacks. The hero also has the help of partners in various stages and these partners can attack enemies normally or use their special abilities, ranging from attacks that hit all enemies on the screen and also healing magic.

The Alcahest game was developed by HAL Laboratory, was published by Squaresoft and still had Satoru Iwata (in memorian) as producer. The soundtrack was composed by Jun Ishikawa and they are songs that I really like. The gameplay of this game is very intuitive.
The game was recorded in Normal mode, so that all chests in the game appear.
I hope you enjoy the video.
