This is the longplay of the game Power Blade 2, an action and platform game developed and distributed by Taito and released for the NES. It was released in September 1992 in Japan and in October of the same year in North America. The game is a direct sequel to Power Blade.
Power Blade 2 takes place on December 24, 2200. The Delta Foundation, a weapons research company, has developed a new cyborg soldier. The US President was told that if the government did not buy it within a week, he would sell it to another government, which would pose a threat if it fell into the hands of a hostile government. The game stars Agent Nova again, who receives a secret mission from the US Department of Defense to destroy the Delta Foundation. Armed with his Power Blade boomerang and his abilities, Nova will face this challenge to prevent the worst from happening.
In the game we control Nova, a hero who closely resembles Arnold (wait a minute, I'm going to Google his last name) Schwarzenegger and uses a boomerang to attack enemies in 8 directions. The new features here are the more detailed graphics, the new abilities of the hero (who can now slide Mega Man style), as well as new armor that can be found throughout the levels: Newt Suit (allows you to hang from platforms and the ceiling), Wet Suit (allows you to swim much faster), Rocket Suit (allows you to fly around the level) and Patriot Suit (which makes two spheres rotate around the hero, protecting him). In addition to all the exclusive abilities mentioned above, armor allows very powerful shots that pass through walls. It is possible to activate the armor at any time, but be aware that the hero has, in addition to his life bar, an energy bar to manage the armor. There are healing items and items to recharge armor energy and both can be stored to be used at the right times.
Power Blade 2 has greatly evolved aspects of the first game, from gameplay, variety and soundtrack. A recommended game.
