In the first part of Loom, a classic fantasy game from LucasArts, you play as Bobbin Threadbare, a 17-year old incipient wizard in the Guild of Weavers, the bastard son of the banished Lady Cygna. Just as Bobbin comes of age, the Guild Elders pronounce their judgement on his guardian, Dame Hetchel, for falling into the same heresy as Lady Cygna once did... but a sudden catastrophe prevents them from applying the same punishment to Bobbin. As the entire population of Loom Island is turned into swans and flies away, our hero, armed with only a magical distaff through which he can cast musical spells, finds himself obliged to leave the island in search of his kin and his destiny...
