In the opening episode of Morrowind, the third major chapter in the Elder Scrolls Saga, we are once again plunged into the universe of Tamriel, this time through the eyes of Elen (a High Elf Battlemage), a prisoner in the Empire who has, for some as yet unknown reason, been freed from the dungeon, put upon a ship and conducted to the little settlement of Seyda Neen, where she is given fresh papers and instructions to meet up with a representative of the Emperor Uriel Septim VII in the nearby city of Balmora. Before doing that, however, Elen is allowed to get her bearings, familiarizing herself with the brand new region of Morrowind - mingling with the locals, getting accustomed to the local flora and fauna, and even completing a few short simple missions for extra cash and reputation gains.
