A dedicated gamer's YouTube channel celebrating gaming. The good, the bad, and the two polygon. Logical Leveling talks about everything gaming: news, upcoming games, and reviews. As well as some of the more obscure topics, like the impact of a certain game and why a game failed. If you're a lifelong fan of video games and everything about them, this is a home for you.
So join the community! Subscribe, comment, and get involved. The goal of Logical Leveling isn't just for me to talk about games (though that is fun) but to find like-minded people and have a discussion. So let me know if you disagree or why you do agree on a video. I'd love for Logical Leveling to become a home base for people who like to get into the nitty-gritty of the gaming industry. If that sounds like something you want or would enjoy, then it's up to you to make it happen!

A Lost Ark Guide and public service announcement to not waste Pheons. Pheons will provide a vital role in getting late game gear in the upcoming tiers of endgame.
There's a dangerous combination I've been seeing in the Lost Ark community. People are desperate for skins, and Lost Ark has a ton of different currencies and doesn't do a good job of explaining which are important.
This has resulted in many people buying skins from the market. This isn't bad, and hopefully, Smilegate and Amazon will add some new ones soon. But people are buying skins with Pheons. Peons? fions? I'm going with Pheons, the little blue disks. Guys, don't buy skins with Pheons. You'll need these.
Pheons were introduced to prevent people from taking over the market by buying all the stock of something in high demand and dictating the price. Scalpers, basically. It's an interesting idea, not something I've seen much in other MMOs, but it's definitely polarizing. Regardless, they're here; we have them. What they do is that if you buy something that's been traded or someone else has used it, you'll need Pheons to purchase it. So if we look at skins, we can see some say tradable 1 or 2 times, or some say untradable upon purchase. These will require Pheons to buy. If you're buying skins, guys, buy the ones that say May be traded 3 times. These won't need Pheons.
And you'll want to keep your Pheons because as we get more content and harder tiers become available, engravings become critical. If we look on the Korean servers, you'll see players completing their current tier with rows and rows of engravings. This means that accessories and rocks become more important. Getting the right accessory with two engravings for your class and 3 nodes is going to matter more. And unless you are a true disciple of RNjesus, it's going to be a while to get that god roll drop. Which means you'll need to buy the accessories.
Gear, accessories, and ability stones can't be bought on the market but instead are traded on the auction house. And you're going to need Pheons to interact with the auction house at all. Again polarizing. So you're going to need Pheons to bid and buy out these accessories and rocks for your engravings.
Which is all fine. But the problem comes in with how scarce Pheons are. Again, they were implemented to fight scalpers, so they wouldn't be fighting anything if they were easy and cheap. Through the daily log-ins, you get 200 for the month during launch. But over in Korea, they're only given 30. So we don't really know how generous Amazon or Smilegate will be with Pheons, but if we look at other regions, it suggests not as generous. The only way to get Pheons without buying them is through daily log-ins and events. You can purchase Pheons with blue crystals, but as you can see, it's not that cheap. Especially as the gold to Blue slowly rises in the west. So save yourself some time and headache. Keep Pheons for now. And if you spent it already, look into some Gold farming sooner rather than later. Right now, Blue is around 800 to 900 gold. But in Korea and Russia, they tend to be about 1500 - 1700, so I expect prices in the west to creep up. I intend to put up a video soon about how I've been making gold. Let me know in the comments if that's something you're interested in.
But that's it, save your Pheons for now, and if you need more, do some gold farming while the price of Blue crystals is lower. I'll see you next time.
