If you've never played the Lord of the Rings Online MMORPG before it might feel a bit overwhelming when you get to the character creation screen and see all the race and class combos. Welcome to my LOTRO gameplay guide covering the best classes for new players in 2023!

Granted, these are based on personal preferences after having played the game on a casual basis ever since it first launched. I'm not into raiding, and I don't do a lot of group-based gameplay these days. I mostly play LOTRO as a solo MMO just indulging myself in Middle Earth and all things Tolkien as opposed to seeking out challenge.

Which means, for me, my favorite classes in LOTRO are based primarily on what I find the most enjoyable and useful for the style of gameplay that I enjoy in this classic MMORPG. Hopefully you enjoy!
