When I woke up, I turned my computer on as I've done for years and, unlike before, the case fan was very noisy. I didn't see any wires in the way of the fan or anything that it could be hitting on. The apparent fix was nothing more than jiggling the fan a little. It was a very simple fix it seems. It's been over a year since I last had to do any maintenance or repairs.
