"love in the time of global warming (chapter two) (or, "lettuce and ice")" demo #1
this is the first demo of "love in the time of global warming (chapter two)", which is the second (and last) chapter of our song "love in the time of global warming".
the vocals really aren't 100% in place yet, though at least the structure of the song is pretty solid.
we did "onegai (inori)" a couple times, and even recorded another demo of it, though i don't know if i'm going to upload it. i guess i'll have to listen to it first!
(ended up not uploading that other demo.)
as for this song -- yeah, now that i've actually listened to it, i reckon it's "finished" -- it just needs a bunch more practice for the vocals, a a better solo at the start (imagine this song start right as "love in the time of global warming" ends) and a much more reined-in guitar tone.
really, the guitar tone sounds like shit. that studio is sketchy sometimes. the monitors were just plain not working :-/
need to buy a chorus pedal for the big riff that comes in at around 3:00. might as well go for an electro-harmonix uhhh small clone?
also, it's worth noting that i told zak we would play the ending splashy riffy thing once, and end on the high and flowery sounding chord (it's a G and i honestly have no idea what numbers / letters come after it, though because it's played by doing the same note on both E strings, and there's a cute little built-in delay because it literally takes a beat to get from one G note to the other, i just call it a "big G chord"). anyway, zak thought it would be HILARIOUS to bring the drums back at the end and see if i reacted in time to re-play the riff.
anyway, it doesn't work in the video because i simply was not ready enough for various reasons (one being that i am not a Real Musician). however, i believe we should definitely end the song this way in the future. nice, pronounced little pauses between repetitions of that money riff.
i really like that riff!
