so yeah, welcome to week three of large prime numbers' magical journey through the wilderness some braver men call "life without a digitech whammy". we were slamming the LIFE out of some insane stoner-rock shit a couple weeks ago, on that fateful day when the practice studio ate my whammy's power adapter. since then, i have tried to order the adapter (for a US whammy) on the internet, only to get all the way to the "select your shipping method" screen and be told "we cannot send this to your country". digitech japan politely told me to fuck myself when i called them about sending me an adapter that would work on a US whammy. "the japanese adapter won't work on the US whammy, and the US adapter won't work in japan, period", they said. "well, i had one until recently, and according to my HOT VIDEOS on youtube, it most certainly DID work". the guy then politely told me that he doubts i'm telling the truth and then did the japanese equivalent of hanging up -- that is, he spoke a seventy-second impenetrable string of antiquated politeness modifiers before saying goodbye and abruptly hanging up the phone.

anyone want to send me a whammy power adapter :(

please :(

anyway, yeah. today me and zak get into our hot jam session and i get all my gear set up and i'm like, "man, no whammy. man. you know what that means?"

"no. what does that mean?"

"it means we can't cover 'sleep now in the fire' by rage against the machine."

"shittttttttt."

"lol."

"lol."

then i walked over, started the camera, and, well. you might already be watching the video.

definitely not something i would do live.

and yes, i know that the solo in "sleep now in the fire" does not actually involve the digitech whammy. it's just, you know. morello owns one, and if i were going to try to play that solo of his, i'd just do it by jerking on the whammy instead of that feedback-loopin' kill-swtchin' shit he does. i do not have nearly enough confidence in my tone-honing to do what he does without, you know, making myself permanently deaf.
