INSTALLATION GUIDE
The installation of Luberri is done through an application called Ubiquity, just like Linux Mint and Ubuntu.

Before starting the installation, it is advisable to copy the data from the computer. These are the steps to install:

1. Download the iso image.

2. Prepare the USB-live installation USB using this file . Various applications can be used for this: Windows Rufus, Unetbootin, Etcher..., each Linux distribution has its own USB image writer.

3. With the computer turned off, insert the installation USB you just created and turn it on. Before booting your system (Windows, other Linux...) you must activate the BIOS screen ( depending on your BIOS, this is done with a special key: Esc, F1, F2, F8, F10, F11, F12 or Delete; usually this information is displayed on the screen during the boot sequence ) and change the boot order ( boot order ) between the configurations to boot with your USB .

4. Booting up from USB is quite slow. You can test that the wifi, mouse, audio are working and, if you want, start the installation: Install Luberri .

5. Select the system language: Basque.

select Basque
6. Select the keyboard : Spanish or French

7. Connect to the internet . Wired or Wi-Fi. It is not essential.

8. Multimedia codecs . Select normal installation without installing codecs (already installed them). It will ask for permission to unmount the installation disk: say yes.

9. Type of installation. Here it offers three options and we have to make a decision.

a- Maintain the installed system. If we have Windows and want to keep it, this option is the easiest. We need to decide how many disks for Windows and how many for Luberri. We will leave it to Windows and a little more, the rest to Luberri. If the Windows data fills up a lot, we can leave the installation itself, take that data out, resume the installation and, when finished, put that data into Luberri. At the end of the installation, we will have to decide every time on the Grub screen to use Windows or Luberri.

b- Remove the existing system and install Luberri. The existing system and data will be gone.

c- Create partitions. If you control the partition theme you can customize the partitions in this option. Note that you can remove, add, and assign partitions, but not resize them. If you want to resize, for example shrink a Windows partition, you need to do that with Gparted before installing. If the computer has UEFI, a UEFI partition must be created. If you have low RAM or if you plan to use hibernation, it is advisable to create a Swap partition equal to the amount of RAM you have . An ext4 partition of about 30GB for the system in the / mount point and an ext4 partition for the data separately in the /home mount point. (Note: if the computer you are installing has another Linux or another Luberri before 22.04, if it has /home, it is advisable to format that partition - after extracting the data beforehand ).

the partitions
It will ask for permission to delete and create partitions when proceeding. give

permission to modify partitions
10- Accept the time zone .

choose time zone
11- Provide the administrator's data . Username in lowercase and without tilde. Remember the correct username and password.

administrator data
12- The installation will be carried out . It will take about ten minutes. You can read the slides. When finished say to restart. It will ask you to remove the boot USB and press enter. If you have kept Windows when restarting the computer, a screen called Grub will appear to choose which system you want to use, otherwise it will boot directly into Luber.
