A custom trailer based on a series of books I discovered on vacation in Hawaii.
Alien Chronicles is a curious phenomena; a story developed by the movie studio Lucasfilm which was never used, based on concept art originally intended for Star Wars! It was written with verve and real spark by Deborah Chester; a compelling and wholly unique narrative only more amazing given its muddled and humble beginnings.

The heroine of this tale Ampris is actually the horrid dog beast seen in the trailer. That's right; Alien Chronicles is a story told completely from the perspective of non-human creatures, each and every player belonging to a wholly new race. The trilogy of book follows Ambris from her capture by the tyrannical lizard-like Viis to her career as a brutal gladiator and eventually her rise to become a resistance leader against the Viis, employing the 'Ugly' races that the Viis have kept suppressed for centuries in a final war to decide the balance of power. But this is not chiefly the tale of war and rebellion, its a character driven drama, tragedy and even sometimes comedy and love story spanning several years, each character adapting as events change, each maturing in their outlook as the years go by. Ambris I still think is one of the most multi-tiered female characters I've ever read about, and she's a dog like alien who walks on all fours!

Although not one character is human, their emotions and decisions as presented by crisp and perfectly paced text bring more humanity to these creatures then many humans have in other series! I'd heartily recommend this all but ignored series, and hope one day some one discovers it and gives it its cinematic due.
