【Luigi and Spaghetti - DOS Abandonware】 Squiggy's Abandonware Adventures (Free DOS Games)
Today we have an unlicensed DOS Luigi bootleg game from France. He's wearing a cute little beret and everything. This game is pretty flippin' weird.
This is a semi-simplistic action/puzzle/platformer. I say it's simple because the mechanics are basically move left, move right, jump up, or jump left/right. That's pretty much it.
The main "combat" is a game of avoidance, and unfortunately patience. I say unfortunately because I am not patient and killed myself many times trying to run through things I should have been dodging.
This style of game is not really my favourite for the amount of waiting you have to do, but I do like it for what it is. I appreciate a good puzzle game. I'm not sure this is a "good" puzzle game though, and that's the big problem.
The most interesting part of this game is seeing the new areas and seeing who you have to free in each world. World 1 we have Indiana Jones, World 2 has Tarzan I believe, World 3 was Hercules, and I think World 4 was Robin Hood. Add in the Superman powerups and it's an IP-infringing frenzy up in here, hahah.
All in all, I enjoyed this a lot just to experience it because it's odd and unique, but the gameplay was lackluster and I probably won't be returning. Hope you enjoyed watching my friends!
---[ Series Information ]---------------
Squiggy's Abandonware Adventures is a series where I play through Abandonware games. Abandonware games are games so old that their copyright is no longer being enforced, usually because the original company distributing the game no longer exists. As such, they are in a legal gray area where they aren't quite legal to pirate, but no one is around to protect the original IP. For the most part they are old DOS games, but they may be from other older systems such as the Commodore 64.
